In her white dress

In her white dress

Her dress an antique:
emerald leaves
magenta
rose-petal prints
jiggle and sway,
leaves stirred,
my invisible desire.

Her dress a veil,
hiding her.
I painted every fold,
every crease
a tortured longing.

Unspoken words
tremble
beneath her train.
